I had hopes for this, based on the plot summary. Unfortunately this author has a horrible non-grasp of grammar and sentence structure. As another reviewer mentioned, the author does not pay attention to detail and writes conflicting information that even a fledgling editor couldn't miss. The characters were unlikeable and annoying. The "perp" was predictable and identifiable VERY early in the story. Sad, because as mentioned, the storyline had potential.

Invitation to Die The Killing GameBook 1 edition by Jaden Skye Romance eBooks Reviews

Wow. Sometimes you run across a book with great grammar, spelling, dialogue, but a bad story. This was the exact opposite. The story was pretty good, but the grammar and dialogue was horrendous. Several times in the book, parts of paragraphs were repeated on the same page... Some of the characters were (probably) meant to sound intelligent and intriguing but instead came across as simple-minded.... Hunter, for example, was a character I could have done without. I don't regret having read it because, as I said, the plot is fairly decent.... But the writing is pretty awful.
Two women have been murdered in Boston. One, a prostitute, is left in a dirty alley. The second, a preschool teacher, is left on a Swan boat in the beautiful Public Garden. Stymied, the FBI calls in famous criminal profiler, Tracy Wrenn.

I really wanted to love this book. It combines the FBI, a criminal profiler, a serial killer and, Boston, one of my favorite cities.
Hunter, Tracy and Clay are the three stooges of law enforcement. Why, you ask? (note the question mark).

First, Why? Does?! Everyone! Speak or Think? With! Exclamation Points!!! and Question Marks???

Second, on Tracy’s first day in Boston, to visit crime scenes, she dresses in a blue dress, white jacket, red beads and comfortable sandals since she’ll be doing a lot of walking. Sound like she is going to a Fourth of July party!

Third, when a third woman goes missing, Hunter, who’s mother was a “famous painter” and proclaims that he “knows art,” interrogates the woman’s fiancé because he is an art deal who sells “paintings of naked ladies”.

I could go on and on about this poorly written book and its pathetic cast of characters.

Buyer beware. Do not waste your money.
This book was just awful. The so called "Profiler" was an idiot wrapped up in herself, did not have the first clue about whom to trust and brought in a stranger to help who was a weirdo . She should have had better instincts, it was all so obvious. Horrible writing and characters.
The characters were not believable. The story was unrealistic. Anyone who watches a few episodes of a good police drama or reality TV police procedurals could do better. Also, classes in English and writing wouldn't be amiss.
the story line was good, but please, they are FBI agents, Tracy, who is suppose to be extremely smart had dated someone for years, and yet knows nothing about him. A very strange man gets involved in the murders to "help" and she actually lets him... the woman FBI person who has know Tracy for like 2 minutes wants all the dirt on Tracy's love life. the FBI agents seem to know nothing, they are more interested in trying to get Tracy and one of their friends together romantically than they are in catching a killer. this was a free book, I would not pay to read the next book
Unfortunately this is typical of self-published "authors." They don't want to take the time to learn their craft and have their book edited. One doesn't need a professional editor - just a trusted friend who will read over the manuscript for typos, misspellings, etc. First of all,INDENT the manuscript five spaces! This is standard industry practice. Right the manuscript looks like it's one long paragraph. Get a good thesaurus and use it! Many many redundant words in this story. Learn the facts! It is IMPOSSIBLE to ascertain the "exact" time of death unless someone witnesses the crime. There are simply too many variables. Note to "author." get the excellent non-fiction books by Dr.D.P. Lyle. Hes' a forensic pathologist and states in his book that it's impossible to tell the time of death up to five hours either way! But, most importantly - edit the damn book! At one point the gorgeous and extremely intelligent main character "gets up from her chair and smooths the wrinkles out of her slacks." Two paragraphs later, "she slid to the edge of her chair...." Stuff like that drives me nuts. Such sloppy work should never have been published.
I am giving this book one star because the story itself was decent. However, this was the most poorly written book I have read in a great long time. Apparently proofreading is a thing of the past as there was a multitude of glaring errors. This woman should not give up her day job!
